Any window that displays the Delete Task, or Delete Selected Task, hyperlinks will delete the Task
record the window is working with.
All of that task record's child records (Subtasks, Work Sessions, Notes, and Data Link Files) will
also be deleted.
However, when you
try to delete a task that has child records linked to it, you'll see a Deletion Confirmation dialog
box pop up, asking you to confirm the deletion.
To delete a task that's being displayed in an "Index" window such as the Idea's Tasks Index Window,
you'll need to single click on the task's record entry first, and then click the Delete Selected
Task hyperlink.
When you're deleting a Task that's in a Task Window, just click on the Delete Task hyperlink.
Deleted Task records can be restored using the Idea's Tasks Index Window, or the Tasks Index Window.
The process is the same for
either window.
Start by clicking on the Restore Deleted Tasks hyperlink.
Now search the list of deleted tasks for the task you want to restore and single click on its record
entry.
Then click on the Restore Selected Tasks hyperlink.
The Select Type Of Parent dialog box pops up and it wants to know which parent Idea or Task record
you want to restore
the deleted task to.
Click either the Link To Idea or Link To Task button.
Clicking either of these hyperlinks displays another dialog box that lets you search for the parent
Idea or Task to link the deleted
task record to.
After you've found that parent record, just double click anywhere on its record entry and the deleted
Task record
and all of its child records will be restored. Then the dialog box closes and you're done.
Or, if you've copied the ID number of the parent record to the computer's "Clipboard", then paste
that ID number into the Use This Task ID (or Idea ID) field and press the Enter key.
The dialog box will close and you're done.
The deleted record and all of its child records are restored and linked to the selected parent
record.
