The Notes Window
The Notes Window is the editing window for Note records.
This is the only window that you can add or edit the contents of a Note record in.
I'm just going to introduce this window here, because in the Notes section of the website, under Common Tasks, many other web pages go into detail about the Notes Window's features and how to use them.
Note's are made up of combinations of text and/or images, and you can link any type and amount of computer files to them.
The Notes Window functions like a normal Word Processing window, but it was never meant to compete with any commercial Word Processors, so it has a very, limited set of Word Processing features.
This image shows a set of panels used to style a note's content.
The Notes Window's primary job is to make it very fast and easy to capture your thoughts (using text and/or images) and link those thoughts to database records that represent project elements in your projects.
Note record's can be linked to any type and amount of computer files which extends the rage of information they're connected to.
In this image a group of Word Processing files are being linked to the note.
Even though the content's of a file are not displayed inside the note, the Notes Window can make it very fast, and easy to locate any of its files, and have the software that works with that type of data, load and display the file's contents to you.
This allows the Note record and all of its parent records, to make it very fast and easy for you to find and display those 'thoughts' again in the future. Using simple keyword searches, whose keywords come from whatever you can remember about what it is you're looking for.
